Thinking of the first pencil strokes we were so unsure
Unrealistic expectations expressed through uneven proportions
And less than linear lines
We emphasized the highlights and softened graphic shadows
Expressing an idea of what life could be
Although the pen made things feel more permanent
We set out to create a custom palette of deep purples
Magentas, cinnamon, pinks and oranges
Windows painted into the soul
Revealing all darkness
A different reality of what is
